Rising operational costs require owners to increase digital operations. They turn to online marketplaces but these marketplaces are not sustainable.
To design a seamless and user-friendly food ordering and management website and app to empower local businesses and enhance consumer satisfaction.
The design process was not a linear, step-by-step journey.
Testing can reveal unexpected obstacles. New insights or technical constraints? Go back to ideation and iteration.
A flexible and cyclical process ensures that Boons meets user needs and business goals.
Conduct market research and understand where boons is positioned, what is the state of the industry, and learn what our users need.
1. We are a direct, first-party solution that connects restaurants directly with their customers.
2. Owners are typically 50+ years old, not tech-savvy, and are stressed over increasing operational costs.
3. Consumers want a convenient way to order online while also effectively supporting local businesses.
Sketches focused on the layout and content tailored towards increasing user engagement and communicating company values.
Following the initial sketches, I created high-fidelity wireframes that considered branding, information hierarchy, accessibility, and more.

The landing page displays the company's partner restaurants, so it needs to effectively capture users' attention, have a clear call to action, and reflect the boons style guide with the correct personality and values.

Conduct customer and restaurant partner surveys and interviews to gather feedback, suggestions for improvement, and any usability issues.
This experience taught me to balance creativity with the practical constraints of resources, time limits, and technical capabilities while ensuring that our products are feasible, meet business goals, and user needs.
